FCO Series

FCO Series

FCO Oval gear flowmeters are devices used to measure and control liquid flow in pipes. They offer a wide flow range, low pressure loss, and high accuracy, making them suitable for various liquids, including high-temperature and high-viscosity fluids. These meters come with mechanical displays for real-time and totalized flow readings.

They can be constructed from different materials depending on the liquid type and are commonly used in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, food, and medicine.

Meter Flow Rates vs Viscosity

Use the chart below to determine the maximum meter flow rate based on meter bearing material and product viscosity:

  1. Identify the percentage of the rated capacity at which the meter will operate.
  2. Determine the product’s viscosity at the operating temperature.
  3. Plot the intersection of these two points on the chart.
  4. Compare this point with the slope corresponding to the meter bearing material.

If the point is above the slope, the pressure loss exceeds allowable limits. Consider using a larger meter, reducing the flow rate, or selecting different bearing materials.
